brainstorming dump: txt au ideas

i’ve been in an extremely down mood the past week or two, and the only thing that makes me forget about it for a couple hours is planning new stories. usually i let these rot in my private collection or notes app, but i’ve decided to just share my brainstorming here, as this was the original purpose of this acc....

i actually have a private post from a few months ago where i basically had a wip dump, but i’ve noticed that in the first couple of stories i basically just wrote out the entire plot out instead of condensing it. i’m so paranoid about people stealing my dumb ideas, so it didn’t feel very smart letting it be public... so this one is more just ideas where i have no concrete plot yet, just settings or tropes i wanna explore.

• inspo being the tyunning hockey ep

• beomgyu is the goalie and the “goon,” yj’s the all-star, and soobin wears the c of course. that’s the only definitive part so far

they all come from different affluent cities:

• soobin — hancock park

• yeonjun — beverly hills

• beomgyu — palos verdes

• taehyun — pasadena (the only one i’m very familiar with irl lol)

• kai — brentwood

i would say what this was inspired by... but i shall not, as it’s.. maybe controversial. but if you can guess it, i’m really only inspired by the setting and time era they showed—that’s it.

i want it to probably be dark academia, but idk how or what yet. i do already have headcanons about each member and their fictionalized households in this universe though. like yj is a son of a film director and a hollywood actress, taehyun son to a plastic surgeon and professor...beomgyu ??, soobin son to a corporate lawyer and socialite, and kai's mom owns a high end boutique and his dad is a music producer.

slasher on a cruise

• i watched a documentary on cruise ships, and they’re actually very scary. a lot of insidious stuff happens, more than one would think, and i just think the setting would be cool to explore. and it’d actually be really easy to introduce a bunch of idols without it feeling far-fetched

• originally i was thinking of this being an alt universe but now i'm tempted to try canon as i feel like that would be even more outlandish and absurd. i wanna attempt more "unserious" pieces

zombie apocalypse

• ok this one’s already more thought out than the others, since i have an idea of the beginning. but i’m running through like three different endings

• i thought of this a year ago, so before the tomorrow concept photos came out, which now makes me wanna maybe change some parts

• also i haven't watched the to do ep where they have to like find a cure for a zombie apocalypse (yes that is how behind i am) and i kinda don't want to now, as i don't wanna take that much inspo from it. but also their strategies and archetypes might be wildly inaccurate bc of that...

oh, this one would be gen! and I kinda like not so modern aus where they're more connected to the wolf side?? but not too much..a nice in between.

• i briefly mentioned this in some diary i think but i've been headcanonning this made up ship in my head the past 3 yrs with these two and a female idol. the dynamics are actually pretty similar to challengers, but hey i actually thought abt it first ok lol. this is m/f shipping between idols (well, technically m/f/m) so... i don't think it'll ever go public... maybe
