seasideficsin light of hueningkai releasing a cover of justin bieber's the one thing i ever want from christmas, i've been racking my brain for all the songs i want them, individually and as a group, to cover. some of this list is made up of hopes from 2020, and maybe speaking about it will finally bring it into existence.

youth by troye sivan. ok, so they did a tiny snippet in some english interview during the pandemic, but i need a FULL COVER ASAP, like 5 years ago. i just really love that album in particular, as i'm sure every gay/angsty teen on the internet in 2015 did, and i still include blue neighbourhood in my top albums a decade later. it just reminds me so much of 2015… my best year in life.
falling slowly by glen hansard & markéta irglová. ok, so nct dream would constantly sing this in group bonding sessions and it made me fall in love with the song. i love it so much, and i just wanna see txt tackle it. i think beomgyu covered it on guitar way back in 2019?
voodoo doll by 5sos. take me back to 2010s boybands, pls pls.
teenage dirtbag by wheatus. again, give me that 2010 western boyband vibe, but i just need to see how they'd pull it off… who would hit the high notes? first obvious guess is taehyun, but i think jjunie and kai could totally surprise us.
tyunning: i have been screaming about this since 2020 also, but CHECK YES JULIET by we the kings. like… do you see my vision??? it would be immaculate…my pop rock emo boys
soogyu: at my worst by pink sweat$. i have also been screaming into the void about this since 2021. i feel like their voices suit it so well, and now that we're getting a ton of soogyu content in the year 2025, this actually feels possible.
yeonjun: anything by keshi, but my favorites include summer and right here. i still giggle excitedly to myself that yj is a keshi fan because same… i was obsessed with him in my senior yr (2019). i honestly correlate keshi with yeonjun and jk both…
soobin: ok so i find that i love soobin’s voice in pop songs, he had my favorite part in the in my blood cover and the love story cover. it’s just so… full? idk, i'm not a music person in any way so i won't be able to decipher any technicalities. i just know i love how he sounds. so i honestly wanna see him cover 2010 pop songs. like give me teenage dream by katy perry.
beomgyu: i need more pop rock songs from him because hello?? the alltimelowification in loser=lover with the “fighting, bleeding… i fucking keep it low”... he sounded like he belonged in atl there. so i need him to cover dear maria, count me in and misery business/the only exception by paramore.
taehyun: since he’s such a zayn fanboy, i honestly wanna see him cover what zayn did for his x-factor audition: let me love you by mario. i think he suits r&b (and pop rock… as they all do) the most out of all the members.
kai: ok long list incoming. i’ve been obsessed with the idea of him covering use somebody by kings of leon since i can remember? idk why, because even when the idea first popped into my head he hadn’t covered anything similar to it yet, but his voice just holds so much… emotion. and the “i’ve been roaming around, always looking down at all i see” would sound so wonderful in his tone. it's just very..raw?how do you love somebody by why don’t we. yes, kinda embarrassing to say i like a wdw song at my age, but whatever. a kr nindungie account i followed talked about it when it first came out and said it reminded them of loser=lover, so of course i had to check it out, and they were right!! i think kai’s band-loving self would enjoy it too. today i also learned this was their disbandment song...
try hard by 5sos. ok, i just think the image would be so funny if he filmed an mv for it... like he could point behind himself and it’s still him, with the “i play guitar but she’s into drummers” line, because he’s a musical prodigy and can play anything. also anything by 5sos just suits him!
